We are so pleased and excited to be launching our second location servicing the Southern Gold Coast at, The Boatshed Currumbin.

Let’s get to know our Southern Gold Coast Self-Love Ambassador, Bec Williams ❤

“My self-love journey started about six years ago. Prior to that was a ten-year struggle that included an eating disorder, anxiety, unhealthy habits and eventually, a broken-down marriage. I was horribly insecure, I had low self-esteem and just didn’t like let alone love who I was. I truly felt like the mirror was my biggest enemy but really, the biggest enemy was the sad, sad girl staring back at me.

I never really knew much about self-love back then. I didn’t know what it meant or what it was. All I knew was that life was miserable. I would wake up each day feeling sorry for myself and picking myself to pieces. I felt completely trapped. Trapped in a body I despised, trapped in a marriage I wasn’t happy in and trapped in an unfulfilling job. It was around this time of my life that my ex-husband and I were trying for kids. I completed five rounds of IVF with no success. It was in our last round of IVF that I found out my ex-husband was having an affair. This has to of been one of the most gut-wrenching feelings I have ever felt, and from that moment, I scraped whatever self-worth I had left and started to rebuild myself and my life.

It took a lot of time, commitment and persistence to get to where I am now, but I am finally in a place where I feel grounded. A place where I am positive, happy, fulfilled and in love with myself and life. It feels amazing to wake up this way. To look in the mirror and compliment myself. To accept myself. To be in a relationship that consists of honesty, loyalty, support and of course love. To have a real passion for life and a heart overflowing with gratitude. This is what I craved for so many years, searching everywhere I could think of but from within. I promise you this is where it’s at. Everything you want is already within you but it all starts with a woman’s ability to love herself.”

What does Self-Love mean to you?

“To me, self-love means loving and accepting who I am flaws and all. It means taking care of my mind, body and soul. It means forgiving myself, showing myself compassion and believing I am valuable, worthy and deserving.”

Why do you think it’s important for women to love who they are?

“Because when you love who you are, life changes for the better. You become your own best friend. You open up to yourself, opportunities and the world. You spread love, you welcome love and you give yourself a chance to truly be happy. You value yourself. You believe in yourself. You believe in your worth, and because of these beliefs, you make better decisions. Decisions that are a reflection of the love you have for yourself. That is why I think self-love is important. Because being the person you want to be and living the life you want to live starts with your own self-love.”

Some things that I totally LOVE:
