Welcome Cara Nelleman, Our Newest Self-Love Ambassador
Welcome to the family, Cara Nelleman, our newest Self-Love Ambassador!
Tasmania just got a little sweeter as we spread our wings and land upon your shores with our newest Self-Love Ambassador, Cara Nelleman!
What does this mean you might ask?
It means that more women will be connected to their True-Self in Self-Love through our magical movement.
It means community, sisterhood, empowerment, inspiration, support and so much love!
Oh.. not to mention a whole lotta fun!
The Self-Love Movement is all about providing tools and resources and empowering, inspiring, and supporting women to make better quality heart-centred choices, igniting the magic of true Self-Love.
Self-Love requires commitment, dedication, persistence, and inspired action, which are the foundations and core values of our movement.
Tasmania, let’s meet your Self-Love Ambassador, Cara;
Cara is a Reiki practitioner and aromatic meditation facilitator, she also works within the Education system in Tasmania.
Cara felt pulled to connect and serve on a deeper level and is currently studying counselling and is committed to helping show women and children what lies within them, to provide tools for them to take control of their own emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Cara’s journey to self-love has been an interesting one, “I believed I had hit rock bottom many times in my life, only to be proven wrong, time and time again.” Cara credits the true catalyst to beginning the deep healing of her self-love journey, as being the death of her father. “Although I had worked through a lot of my shadow in the previous years, the death of my father broke me into pieces and changed the landscape of the person that I am. It forced me to question everything in my life, from what I liked to eat to the people I would allow in my energy space. It was where I truly looked within and thought, I have to do this for me. It has not been easy but I am incredibly grateful for the process.”
What does Self-Love mean to you?
I feel that self-love can present itself in so many ways. It can be creating strong boundaries, it can be saying no on occasion to something or someone that does not feel aligned with you. Self-love can be nurturing your body with nutritious and wholesome food, ensuring your body has adequate movement as well as resting when you feel called to rest. Self-love can be indulging in a chat with your best friend, watching a funny movie, having a long bath by candlelight or spending time in nature with your journal.
In short, no matter the package that the experience of self-love is wrapped in, the underlying gift is always the same. Self-love is filling your cup, knowing your worth and truly owning your “stuff” by taking responsibility for yourself, your energy and how you show up in the world.
Why do you think it is important for women to love who they are?
I believe when a woman connects with her feminine essence, when she faces herself, when she asks herself the tough questions and is shown her truth…I believe that she becomes unstoppable.
I believe women finding strength, finding compassion, vulnerability, courage, humility and beauty within ourselves, leads us to a place where we no longer need or seek permission from others. Be that our partners, our family and friends or even society as a whole, when we can find within us the answers that we seek through the act of loving ourselves, everything changes.
We become grounded, we become knowing, we no longer seek externally, we look within. A woman who looks within for answers is a woman with a quiet confidence, a woman who can create real change. It ripples from us, affecting those around us, which in turn creates more ripples.
Women loving who they are can create change that can move mountains. I wholeheartedly believe that.
Tell us some things you love:
I love the ocean, in fact any body of water really, it has the ability to both calm me and fill me with energy at the same time.
I love kundalini yoga, I was introduced to it a few years ago and it has been a loving and supportive experience within my life, especially when times have been difficult. I have drifted away many a time, however I always find my way back.
I love music, opera and old school rock, the music can create so many different feelings in any given moment.
I love time alone, time on my own to do whatever I want to do, writing in nature, going to the movies, getting in the car and just driving…time alone fills my cup in a powerful way.
I love having in depth discussions, talking about juicy topics and hearing people’s thoughts is beautiful.
I love my friends and family, seeing them do well lights me up, as does being able to connect with them when things are not so great.
What are your top 3 Self-Love Rituals/Acts of Self-Love?
❤ Meditation and Kundalini Yoga.
❤ Journaling.
❤ Nature.
Love,
Cara Nelleman xo
